Agile management reporting
Connecting data to business objectives
Leaders wants reports because they tell them facts of how their business is doing.
My question is if reports could do more for leaders than just present facts?
What if for instance reports could tell leaders more about the business consequences and impacts?
Imagine that a leader could tie operational data and business targets together as a dynamic visual network – revealing the patterns and rules of dependencies and implications - and that the networks could be easily maintained by the leaders themselves.
This would mean that leaders could "visually program" assumptions on relationships and impacts and validate in seconds the validity of their assumptions - and the impact on their business.
This would lead to a new type of reporting – where operational data becomes dynamic networks of information of how business objectives are impacted.
Our experience is that this agility leads to higher transparency and clarity of cause and effect – leading to clearer governance and decision making.
